ADOPT-A-FAMILY
HOLIDAY PROGRAM – closed

ALL FAMILIES on our list HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! Thank you everyone!

As the holiday season approaches, it’s a time of joy and celebration for many, but it can also be a challenging and lonely period for those in need. This year, we invite you to join our Adopt-a-Family program to make a profound difference in the lives of families facing hardship during the holidays.

Our Adopt-a-Family program is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to directly impact the lives of those experiencing hardship. By participating, you’ll have the chance to bring hope, warmth, and happiness to families who may be facing unique challenges.

Here’s how it works:

Sign Up: Let us know you’d like to participate by visiting this link There you’ll find all the necessary information and details about the families in need.

Choose a Family: Browse through profiles of families who could use your support during the holidays. Each profile will include information about the family’s size, needs, and special wishes.

Shop and Prepare: Once you’ve selected a family, you can start shopping for gifts and essential items based on their specific needs and wishes. Whether it’s warm clothing, toys for children, or grocery gift cards for a festive meal, your generosity will bring smiles to their faces.

You do not need to purchase everything on the list. Please select those items that fit within your budget as long as you provide roughly equal gifts for each child in the family.

Deliver Your Gifts: Gifts will be accepted at a location to be determined December 7th-9th. Pack your UNWRAPPED gifts into bags/boxes with the Family’s name written on them clearly.

We will be posting more families each day. If all families are sponsored, please check back for additional options.

Volunteer to help pack boxes or distribute them in November

_________

Each year The Action Center provides 1,400 households with Thanksgiving meals. This unique distribution allows participants to drive through and remain warm in their vehicle while volunteers load the meal kits – filled with Thanksgiving fixins’ –  into their vehicles.

The call for donations is now open …  If you want to collect the specific items we need for our Thanksgiving boxes, use our flyer to run your own food drive. We are purchasing some items and relying on our community to donate the rest, all delivered in time to prepare the boxes for more than 1,400 households.

Donations due by November 2

School Supply Donation Drive and Distribution

Each year The Action Center helps nearly 5,000 children in Jefferson County or those experiencing homelessness start the school year right. We provide children in Pre-K through Grade 12 with a bag of school supplies and a new backpack. Thanks to our amazing community, we can make sure each child and their families are ready to start the new year with confidence, excitement, and curiosity.

This year we had an incredible time at the School Supply Distribution event. We filled all our available distribution appointments, serving more than 2,400 households and 5,050 students over the course of 5 days! Thanks to your donations!

Each year, The Action Center connects thousands of households with the supplies and items they need to thrive during financially straining times, such as Back-to-School season, Thanksgiving, and the Holidays. Each of these programs serves our community in it’s own unique way.
